Barrett MRAD Mk22 ASR in .300 Norma Magnum — The US Advanced Sniper Rifle, Complete with Deployment Case
The Barrett MRAD Mk22 ASR in .300 Norma Magnum — the US Army and USMC Advanced Sniper Rifle, complete with factory deployment case and ready for FFL transfer.
The Mk22 ASR Program — What and Why
The Advanced Sniper Rifle program was reportedly run by the US Army with joint USMC and USSOCOM interest, and the production contract was publicly reported as awarded to Barrett for the MRAD platform under the Mk22 joint-service designation. The program's stated objective was to consolidate what had historically been a multi-rifle sniper inventory — separate platforms for intermediate-range, long-range, and extended long-range work — into a single modular precision rifle. Each legacy platform carried its own armorer training, its own spare parts inventory, its own optic mounting standard, and its own training pipeline.
The ASR's solution was to replace that multi-rifle setup with a single serialized receiver and a set of user-changeable barrels. One rifle, one set of accessories, one trained user — and, per Barrett's published product documentation, the ability to reconfigure the rifle between the program's specified cartridges by swapping the barrel to a factory torque specification. That is the reason the Mk22 exists, and it is the reason serious long-range shooters and program-correct clone builders care about it: it is not another magnum precision rifle, it is the platform designed to eliminate a logistics problem that sniper sections had been managing for decades.
.300 Norma Magnum — The ASR's Long-Range Cartridge
.300 Norma Magnum is commonly cited as the ASR program's extended long-range option, driving a heavy .30-caliber projectile at velocities that hold supersonic flight well past the distances where legacy sniper cartridges slow into the transonic zone. For a program-correct Mk22 build, .300 Norma is the signature choice — the long-envelope caliber, as opposed to the 7.62 NATO configuration typically used for training and qualification. Building the Mk22 in .300 Norma is how you run the rifle the program intended.
Who This Is For
Serious long-range precision shooters, collectors of current-issue military precision rifles, and buyers building a single-platform modular sniper setup. The included deployment case is the factory Barrett transport case.
What You Should Know Before Buying
This is a centerfire bolt-action rifle in .300 Norma Magnum. It is a firearm — FFL transfer required. The configuration in stock is the .300 Norma barrel; optic package, mount, and suppressor interface are typically specified by the buyer. At this price point the rifle warrants a conversation before purchase, and CCC has been sourcing program-correct military precision rifles since 2017.
A Note on Program Accessories
The Mk22 is a program rifle, which means the suppressor, optic, mount, rings, bipod, and case are specified by the contracting service — not left to the buyer's preference. The Mk22's suppressor in particular is a Barrett can designed for this rifle, not a generic .30-caliber can. We do not cross-link generic accessories on this page for that reason. If you want to talk through what belongs on your Mk22 build, reach out and we will walk you through it.
Program Summary
We build these rifles for shooters who care about getting the program-correct configuration right the first time. If you are running the Mk22 as a long-range platform or as a clone-correct reference piece, reach out before you order and we'll square away the optic, the mount, and the suppressor interface so the rifle ships ready for the range. CCC has been at this since 2017, and the Mk22 is one of the pieces we most enjoy seeing go out the door right.
THIS IS A SERIALIZED FIREARM. It must ship to a Federal Firearms License holder. No civilian exceptions.
Buying and shipping through Charlie’s is easy, but there is some information you need to know. Only a federally licensed firearms dealer may receive a firearm or federally regulated serialized item (like a receiver or suppressor). We cannot ship these items directly to you. Please follow these steps to process your transaction:
1) Check your state laws to make sure the federally regulated item you want to purchase is legal in your state. Your FFL dealer should be able to give you all of the necessary information regarding your state specific laws. But, if we ship to your FFL, and there is a legal issue, we cannot accept a return. So please make sure that you know and follow your local and state laws.
2) A quick google search will show you what Federal Firearms Licensed (FFL) dealers are in your area. When you are ready to purchase, contact the FFL dealer you would like to use and get their shipping address. During the check-out, put YOUR address in the “billing” section and the FFL DEALER’S address in the “shipping” section. If you don’t know your FFLs address, that’s okay. You can send the information later.
3) After check out, make sure to contact your FFL dealer to ensure they will receive your shipment for you (most do this for a small fee, but you should always double check).
4) Have your dealer send us a copy of their FFL to FFL@CharliesCustomClones.com. Charlie’s does not reach to your FFL (MAKE THEM EARN THEIR FEE!!!)
5) Be patient! In order to ensure we remain compliant with all federal laws, our compliance department is kept separate from our sales and operations team. Please allow a few days for our compliance officer to verify all of your dealer’s documents and ensure all federal laws are being observed. You should hear from our compliance department within 3-4 business days. If not, feel free to reach out for a status update.
That’s it! We try to make this process as simple as possible for our customers, but if you are unfamiliar the process or have any other questions, please visit our How to Buy a Firearm page for more details.
California and New York residents please, click here. The process may be different due to state specific laws.
NOTE: The free shipping option does not apply to full rifles, unless purchased with a riflescope. If you choose free shipping at check-out, we will bill you for shipping later.
