The MK12 Special Purpose Rifle is one of the most requested clones in the game — and one of
the most often built wrong. Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center developed the SPR as an
18-inch, precision-leaning upgrade to the M4, fielded by Army Special Forces and Navy SEAL
elements. Charlie's Custom Clones builds the full MK12 family — Mod 0, Mod 1,
Mod H, and the Gordon Carbine — and we build each one in multiple tiers of
clone-correctness so you can match the rifle to your budget without giving up on accuracy
to spec. This is the page for everything MK12 and SPR.
Not every builder needs a museum-grade rifle, and not every budget stretches to every
correct part. So we offer each MK12 in stages of clone-correctness. Same silhouette, same
intent — the difference is how far down to the screw we chase the original spec.
The look and the performance at the best price. Correct profile and configuration with
quality modern equivalents in place of the hardest-to-source original parts. The entry
point into the platform. Our core build. The correct rail, barrel, and furniture for the configuration — the
rifle a knowledgeable eye recognizes immediately as a proper MK12. Down to the original parts where they can still be had: correct-era rail, marked
components, period-correct furniture and muzzle device. The collector-grade build.

The original Special Purpose Rifle: 18-inch SPR-profile barrel with the KAC-pattern rail.
The benchmark MK12 — what most people picture when they hear "SPR."
Defining spec: KAC URX / RIS II rail · 18" SPR-profile barrel · SOPMOD furniture.
The second configuration: the PRI Gen II round rail replaces the KAC flat-top system,
paired with the Crane stock. Refined from field feedback. Our best-selling MK12.
Defining spec: PRI Gen II rail · 18" SPR-profile barrel · Crane (SOPMOD) stock.
The "Holland" configuration — a 16-inch SPR variant developed around the PRI Retro Gen III
round forearm. Shorter and lighter than the Mod 0 and Mod 1, the Mod H was purpose-built
for operators who needed the SPR's precision at a reduced overall length.
Defining spec: PRI Retro Gen III round forearm · 16" SPR-profile barrel · AEM collar and brake.
The SPR family's combat-proven short-barrel variant — the rifle fielded by Delta Force
operators in Mogadishu. The Gordon Carbine uses the AEM suppressor system in a shorter,
CQB-capable package. A direct tie to the Battle of Black Hawk Down.
Defining spec: 12.5"–14.5" barrel · AEM Ops Inc-style collar and brake · M16A2/M4 furniture.
