Geissele: More Than Just Triggers
Triggers may be the first thing that comes to mind at the mention of Geissele. That is where it all started after all. Back in 2004, Bill Geissele released the Hi-Speed National Match Trigger for CMP competition. With the wild success of his first trigger, the Department of Defense approached Bill with a request. Build a select fire trigger as great as the Hi-Speed. They wanted the precision control of a two stage match trigger while retaining full auto capability. In 2005, the Super Select Fire trigger was adopted by members of USSOCOM and became the basis for Geissele’s further trigger development. From the SSF comes the SSA, then enhanced models, different trigger bows, triggers for other non-AR platforms, and more. Geissele Automatics now makes dozens of trigger models to suit whatever needs the end user requires. From High Power competition, to duty rifles, to 3 Gun, DMR precision rigs, and everything in between.
While they do make some of the best triggers on the market, simply leaving it there would mean missing out on a host of other industry leading products. As the years and contracts pile up, Geissele continues to innovate. Today they offer enhanced versions of just about everything on the AR platform.
We can start from the barrel. Geissele offers high quality barrels in many popular lengths. Most of their barrel line up is Cold Hammer Forged and all are chrome lined for the utmost level of durability. All Geissele barrels are High Pressure Tested and Magnetic Particle Inspected. The Geissele Super Gas Block is the perfect next step. Made of 17-4 stainless steel and designed for what Geissele calls “Bombproof” installation, they offer enhanced durability and corrosion resistance over standard gas blocks. But what should surround this combo with?
Geissele free floating Super Modular Rails are manufactured in multiple lengths, colors, and accessory attachment methods. Available for the AR platform as well as the HK416/MR556. USSOCOM selected the Mk16 M-LOK rail for the URGI series. FBI regional teams use a variation of the Mk4 known as the Mk4 Federal with extra bottom Picatinny rail space. For those after a precision rig or DMR, the Mk18 SMR features a full length ARCA rail for mounting to bipods, tripods, barricade stops, and more. The SMR is rigid and true thanks to a 2.25” long barrel nut and solid lock up. The Super Modular Rail is at home on any AR-15.
And all this can be mounted into a Geissele Super Duty Upper Receiver. From there the upper can be completed with a Geissele Reliability Enhanced Bolt Carrier Group including their Stressproof bolt. This can be cycled with one of their ambidextrous charging handles such as the Airborne, Government, or Super Charging Handle.
Moving down, we come to the Geissele Super Duty Lower Receiver. Just like the Upper Receiver, the lower is precision machined by Geissele from 7075 aluminum forgings. In fact, the Super Duty Upper and Lower Receivers are available in matched sets to achieve the best receiver fit.
A lower needs to be populated with quality parts. Geissele offers complete lower parts kits and several upgraded components. Hold them together with Ultra Duty Checkered Takedown Pins. The Maritime Bolt Catch gives more surface area and textured paddles to make manipulations easier when wet or wearing gloves. An upgraded magazine release and button are available to help prevent corrosion and give a more positive texture. A Geissele trigger is a must. Then one of their enhanced safety models. Give more room for gloved hands with an Ultra Duty trigger guard. Hold onto all of this with a Geissele A17 or A22 pistol grip. Complete the lower with a Geissele buffer tube assembly and Super 42 buffer spring.
For those who don’t want to build their own or who already have a complete lower, Geissele offers complete rifles and upper receiver groups such as the Super Duty line, the near clone URGI, and the new Geissele Fighting Rifle line. Geissele offers multiple configurations of rifles and pistols for different end uses. It’s not just 5.56 NATO either. Geissele has options in the popular 6.5 Creedmoor and the new 6mm ARC (for which they had DoD contracts). With weapon systems in service with government agencies and military units, they have a proven track record. Many of those same systems are available as turn key solutions.
Geissele also offers a suite of armorer’s tools, suppressor alignment rods, M-LOK accessories, grip panels, and optic mounts. Whether building or outfitting, Geissele has it.
From a complete firearm or upper receiver group to just a simple Posi-Snap safety, Geissele has a solution. Good enough for elite warfighters, ready for anything dedicated shooters have in store. They’ve been building the best for two decades. Add a Geissele to the safe today.
