Strike Eagle in the 1-8x and 1-6x magnification has been a great entry-level LPVO for the AR platform.  The optics are respectable, and the price point is hard to beat.  The addition in 2022 of the Strike Eagle in FFP is a great addition and allows a shooter new to LPVO the opportunity to experience a different type of scope that works with two eyes open at 1x and the ability to dial-in a target up to 8x.  The first focal plane allows the shooter the ability to experience and learn ranging, as the size of the target relates the size of the hash marks on the reticle remain the same.  The MOA reticle provides an easy translation of 1 MOA at 100 yards is roughly an inch, and 10 inches at 1,000 yards, so 5 inches at 500 yards, which is quick and easy to learn and good enough for an LPVO.  The reticle has this ranging feature at the top of the reticle, while the middle is a red horseshoe, which looks like a red dot at 1x and then encircles the target at more magnification.  The EBR-8 reticle also has superior BDC features and windage marks for hold-over shooting.
