For years, precision shooters and LaRue enthusiasts have been asking the same question: "When will LaRue release a bolt-action rifle?" The wait is finally over, and the result is nothing short of extraordinary. The LaRue Tactical Enhanced Siete Bolt-Action Rifle has arrived, combining LaRue's legendary attention to detail with innovative features that set a new standard in the precision rifle world.
LaRue Tactical has long been synonymous with uncompromising quality and match-grade accuracy in the semi-automatic rifle market. With the introduction of the Siete, LaRue brings its expertise to the bolt-action realm, challenging established players like Barrett and Cadex with a barrel swap in the field tactical option. This isn't just another entry into a crowded market; it's a statement piece that demonstrates LaRue's commitment to pushing the boundaries of rifle design.
At the heart of the Siete is LaRue's commitment to precision. The rifle features a CNC-machined Billet Action seamlessly mated to a CNC-machined aluminum chassis. This integration ensures an exceptionally rigid and stable platform, crucial for maintaining accuracy over long distances and in varying conditions.
The Siete's quick-change barrel system is a game-changer. With a preset 40 ft-lb LaRue made Torque Wrench and Action Bar, caliber changes become a straightforward process. The system's elegance is evident in the small portal on the handguard that aligns with caliber markings on the barrel, providing visual confirmation of proper installation. This feature puts the Siete in direct competition with the modularity of the Barrett MRAD and Cadex Kraken, offering shooters the flexibility to adapt to different scenarios without compromising on LaRue's renowned precision.
The Siete caters to a wide range of shooting disciplines with its diverse caliber options:
- 6.5 Creedmoor (23"): Ideal for long-range precision and competitions
- .308 Winchester (20"): A versatile choice for various tactical and hunting applications
- .260 Remington (23"): Excellent for long-range shooting with reduced recoil
- .243 Winchester (23"): Perfect for varmint hunting and target shooting
- .22-250 Remington (26"): Optimal for predator control and long-range varmint hunting
This variety rivals the options available for the MRAD and Kraken, ensuring that the Siete can be tailored to any shooter's specific needs.
LaRue has always excelled in ergonomics, and the Siete is no exception. The rifle features a modified LaRue RAT Stock on a folding 6-position M-4 profile machined stock extension. This design allows for easy transport and storage without sacrificing stability when deployed. The inclusion of three different height RISR 2.0 risers enables perfect eye alignment with various optics, a feature that sets it apart from many competitors.
The tool-less, quick-detachable, full free-floating handguard with M-LOK attachment points provides ample real estate for accessories while maintaining the rifle's balance and accuracy potential. This level of customization is on par with what you'd expect from the MRAD or Kraken, ensuring that the Siete can be set up to meet the most demanding requirements.
At the business end, the Siete doesn't disappoint. The Precision LaRue Match-Grade Barrel is the foundation of the rifle's accuracy potential. While we can't make specific claims about MOA without extensive testing, LaRue's reputation for producing some of the most accurate AR-platform rifles on the market bodes well for the Siete's performance.
The inclusion of a Timney trigger, breaking at a crisp 2.5 lbs, demonstrates LaRue's understanding of what precision shooters demand. This trigger rivals those found in high-end custom rifles and provides the kind of predictable, consistent break that's essential for long-range accuracy.
While the Siete is an impressive entry into the precision bolt-action market, it's worth noting how it stacks up against established players like the Barrett MRAD and Cadex Kraken:
- Modularity: All three rifles offer exceptional modularity, with the ability to quickly change calibers. The Siete's system appears to be user-friendly, but shooters familiar with the MRAD or Kraken may need time to adapt to LaRue's approach.
- Track Record: The MRAD and Kraken have proven themselves in military and law enforcement applications. While LaRue's reputation is sterling, the Siete is new to this specific market and will need time to build a similar track record.
- Availability: Here's where the Siete shines. Known for their long lead times, LaRue products can be hard to come by. However, we have the Siete in stock and ready to ship, alongside our inventory of MRADs and Krakens, giving you the opportunity to get your hands on this highly anticipated rifle without the usual wait.
The Siete is an experience. It has been a long time on the drawing board, and well, it is Mark's pride bolt action rifle. From the moment you open the included high-impact polymer case, designed for discreet carry of the broken-down rifle, you'll appreciate the thought put into every aspect of the system. The LaRue A-PEG Grip, the generous magazine well compatible with AICS pattern magazines, and the overall fit and finish speak to LaRue's commitment to quality.
At 10.0 lbs (with a 5-round steel magazine), the Siete strikes a balance between stability and portability, comparable to its peers in the precision rifle class.
For the discerning shooter who demands the best and understands the value of precision engineering, the LaRue Tactical Enhanced Siete Bolt-Action Rifle presents a compelling option. It brings LaRue's renowned quality to the bolt-action world, offering a level of customization and performance that will satisfy the most demanding users.
Whether you're a long-time LaRue aficionado eager to add their first bolt-action to your collection, or a precision shooter looking for a rifle that can keep up with your evolving needs, the Siete deserves your attention. And with our in-stock availability, you can bypass the usual LaRue wait times and get behind the trigger of this revolutionary rifle sooner than you thought possible.
The precision rifle market is fiercely competitive, with the Barrett MRAD and Cadex Kraken setting high standards. The LaRue Siete enters this arena not just to compete, but to elevate the entire category. It's a rifle that respects its competition while confidently carving out its own identity.
Experience the next evolution in precision shooting. The LaRue Tactical Enhanced Siete Bolt-Action Rifle isn't just a new product; it's a new benchmark in what's possible when uncompromising quality meets innovative design.
Had the Siete in 6.5 CM for about 18 months now. Like anything from LaRue: fit and finish is exceptional. I revisited load development a few weeks ago at my indoor range to achieve repeatable 100y 1/4" groups in controlled conditions. My recipe: 140gr Sierra Tipped Game King, IMR 4350, Lapua brass with the small rifle primer pocket, and Fed 205M primers. Just got back from the 1K outdoor range today. I printed three x 5 round groups at 496.5y at 1.5" with winds moving between 5.8mph and 6.5mph @ 40degrees. Spread was oval shaped 0.5" vertical and 1.4" horizontal. Seems like once you've broken it in a bit and re-tuned your load: it works pretty damn good for "factory off the shelf". This will be my my go-to plains coyote chaser.. from Tim, September, 2024
