Barrett Firearms

The Barrett MRAD ELR in .416 Barrett — the extreme long-range civilian sibling to the U.S. Army's Mk22 multi-caliber sniper rifle, Flat Dark Earth Cerakote from the Barrett factory.
The Barrett MRAD is the platform that won the U.S. Army's Precision Sniper Rifle (PSR) competition and was adopted as the Mk22 Advanced Sniper Rifle (ASR) — a multi-caliber bolt gun capable of switching between .338 Norma Magnum, .300 Norma Magnum, and 7.62 NATO via a user-changeable barrel system. The Mk22 program is a joint buy across SOCOM and the Army; the MRAD's barrel-swap design is the reason it won, and it is the feature that makes the civilian MRAD a serious long-range tool instead of a bench queen.
The MRAD ELR is Barrett's extreme-long-range variant of the same chassis, chambered in .416 Barrett — a proprietary cartridge Barrett developed to outperform .50 BMG at distance while remaining in a rifle that is legal in jurisdictions where .50 BMG is not. The .416 Barrett pushes a 400-grain projectile past 3,250 fps at the muzzle with a ballistic profile that holds supersonic well past 2,500 yards under standard atmospherics. This is an ELR competition rifle and an anti-material-capable platform, configured for civilian long-range shooters.
The 36" phosphated barrel is cut to Barrett's match spec with a 1:9 twist for the heavy .416 projectiles and capped with the factory muzzle brake — a high-efficiency unit that is the difference between a rifle you can run and one that beats you up. The monolithic upper is machined from 7000-series aluminum for a stiff, repeatable platform and carries a 24.63" (626 mm) Picatinny top rail with 10 MIL (34.4 MOA) of built-in taper for long-range optic elevation.
The stock is a fixed-design adjustable unit — length of pull and cheek height adjust, but the stock itself doesn't fold or collapse, which is the right trade for an ELR gun where a rigid shoulder interface matters. The chassis accepts MRAD M-LOK accessories at strategic points for a bipod, a rear monopod, and spotting gear.
Barrel swaps on the MRAD are done in the field: remove two Torx-head receiver bolts, lift out the barrel/bolt head pair, install the new pair, torque to spec, and the rifle is back in service. The headspace is held in the barrel extension, so the swap does not require gunsmith intervention.

This is a serialized firearm and ships to an FFL holder only — no civilian exceptions. Check your state laws before ordering; have your dealer send their FFL to Charlie's compliance (California residents start here); expect a 3–4 business-day response from our compliance desk. Free shipping does not apply to complete rifles unless purchased with a scope — if you select it at checkout, we'll bill shipping separately.
We stock the MRAD ELR in limited quantities because Barrett allocates these — if you see it in stock in FDE, it is on the shelf. Order yours today and we'll get the paperwork moving.

THIS IS A SERIALIZED FIREARM. It must ship to a Federal Firearms License holder. No civilian exceptions.
Buying and shipping through Charlie’s is easy, but there is some information you need to know. Only a federally licensed firearms dealer may receive a firearm or federally regulated serialized item (like a receiver or suppressor). We cannot ship these items directly to you. Please follow these steps to process your transaction:
1) Check your state laws to make sure the federally regulated item you want to purchase is legal in your state. Your FFL dealer should be able to give you all of the necessary information regarding your state specific laws. But, if we ship to your FFL, and there is a legal issue, we cannot accept a return. So please make sure that you know and follow your local and state laws.
2) A quick google search will show you what Federal Firearms Licensed (FFL) dealers are in your area. When you are ready to purchase, contact the FFL dealer you would like to use and get their shipping address. During the check-out, put YOUR address in the “billing” section and the FFL DEALER’S address in the “shipping” section. If you don’t know your FFLs address, that’s okay. You can send the information later.
3) After check out, make sure to contact your FFL dealer to ensure they will receive your shipment for you (most do this for a small fee, but you should always double check).
4) Have your dealer send us a copy of their FFL to FFL@CharliesCustomClones.com. Charlie’s does not reach to your FFL (MAKE THEM EARN THEIR FEE!!!)
5) Be patient! In order to ensure we remain compliant with all federal laws, our compliance department is kept separate from our sales and operations team. Please allow a few days for our compliance officer to verify all of your dealer’s documents and ensure all federal laws are being observed. You should hear from our compliance department within 3-4 business days. If not, feel free to reach out for a status update.
That’s it! We try to make this process as simple as possible for our customers, but if you are unfamiliar the process or have any other questions, please visit our How to Buy a Firearm page for more details.
California and New York residents please, click here. The process may be different due to state specific laws.
NOTE: The free shipping option does not apply to full rifles, unless purchased with a riflescope. If you choose free shipping at check-out, we will bill you for shipping later.
