Trijicon
The Trijicon ACOG 6X48 is the highest magnification offering in the Advanced Combat Optical Gun sight series. Originally designed for machine guns, this versatile optic has found its niche as a go-to sight for Designated Marksman Rifles (DMR). The 6x48 7.62 found its way to the British DMR, aka Sharpshooter rifle, the L129A made by LMT. Charlie's research suggests that his model, the TA308H is the model used.
The 6X48 ACOG stands out in the lineup with its integral Picatinny rail, facilitating the mounting of supplementary optics like close-quarters red dot sights. This feature enhances the optic's versatility across various engagement distances. No special mounts required like other ACOG models.
Trijicon's patented fiber optic and tritium-based illumination technology powers the red horseshoe reticle, which incorporates a bullet drop compensator calibrated for 7.62mm M80 ammunition out to 1200 meters. This self-adjusting illumination system ensures optimal reticle visibility across all lighting conditions without relying on batteries. Trijicon's well-designed BDC reticles are simple and fast.
The ACOG 6X48 leverages Trijicon's Bindon Aiming Concept (BAC), allowing for both-eyes-open shooting. This technique combines the benefits of magnified precision with situational awareness, excellent for competition, hunting, or tactical use.
Constructed from forged 7075-T6 aluminum, the 6X48 ACOG upholds the series' reputation for durability. Its robust design has been field-tested through over two decades of combat use, earning the trust of military and law enforcement professionals worldwide.
The multi-coated lenses deliver superior clarity and light transmission, while the fixed magnification system reduces moving parts, further enhancing reliability. Nitrogen-filled and sealed, this ACOG model exceeds military waterproofing standards by a factor of five.
The ACOG 6X48 package includes a TA75 Picatinny rail adapter, LENSPEN, lanyard assembly for adjuster caps, Trijicon logo sticker, manual, and warranty card.
This ACOG is believed to be the optic for the LMT British Sharp Shooter rifle, the L129A with an NSN of 1240016481691. Charlie's has come up with this by process of elimination, as we know the NSN numbers of other 7.62mm 6x48 ACOGs, but we cannot fully confirm.
