The KX3 "Flaming Pig" has been a hallmark of Noveske for a decade. The KX5 is a newer variant designed to shave weight and fit under newer slim handguards.
The Noveske KX5 Flash Hider is designed to increase reliability in short barreled AR-15 weapons by increasing back pressure. The KX5 directs the muzzle blast forward of the shooter, which alleviates most of the discomfort when firing an M4, AR-15, or other Modern Sporting Rifle with an abbreviated barrel. The KX5 is made of chrome moly steel that is heat-treated for further durability, using CM construction. The entire assembly is then black nitride finished for corrosion resistance and individually serialized for quality control. Although originally designed for short barreled AR-15's the Noveske KX5 will work on any barrel length.
In addition to pushing concussion forward, the KX5 does a superior job at flash reduction, and creates a small amount of back pressure, which is helpful with tuning short barreled rifles.
