The Daniel Defense Mk18 Complete Upper Assembly is a faithful recreation of the iconic Mk18 Mod 1 rifle. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this upper assembly is designed to deliver optimal performance in any scenario. Its centerpiece is the premium 10.3" Cold Hammer Forged Barrel, constructed from Mil-Spec 4150 Chrome-Moly Vanadium Steel. With its chrome-lined interior, this barrel guarantees exceptional durability and corrosion resistance.
The Mk18 upper assembly features M4 feed ramps integrated into both the barrel extension and upper receiver, ensuring reliable feeding of ammunition. Its true 5.56mm NATO chamber allows for the use of both commercial and higher pressure surplus mil-spec rounds, providing unparalleled versatility. The bolt and carrier undergo a thorough Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) test to guarantee structural integrity, while the gas key is staked to its mil-spec bolt carrier.
To enhance its durability, this upper comes equipped with a fully Nitrided bolt carrier and bolt. All steel components of the Bolt Carrier Group (BCG) feature a Nitride or Melonite finish, while the steel barrel boasts a heavy mil-spec phosphate coating for superior corrosion resistance. Additionally, the aluminum parts are Type III Hard Coat Anodized, further reinforcing their longevity.
Completing the package is the 9.5" Black RIS II Mk18 Quad-Rail Handguard. This handguard, designed to free float the barrel, incorporates a low-profile gas block and provides ample space for tactical accessories. The RIS II creates an uninterrupted top rail surface, allowing you to mount your preferred optics and iron sights with ease. The upper receiver group also includes a charging handle assembly and a Daniel Defense Flash Hider, making it ready for immediate installation on any pistol or registered SBR small pin lower receiver.

** The low profile gas block is smaller than the Mk12 gas block. See pics for details This comes pinned or unpinned, however the factory is producing when you order. From time to time, the factory sends with the Mk12 gas block. If you have a preference, let us know, but mostly, we get what we get.
*** Standard mil spec charging handle, which has been standard with DD Mk18's for years. The newer Rip and Grip, which is an upgrade option at Charlie's.
**** This upper receiver groups ships with a milspec nitrided bolt carrier group, as many of Charlie's customers have requested this newer feature. You can also elect to receive the Daniel Defense branded phosphated BCG as an option, if you prefer.
