Daniel Defense
To say that we at Charlie's love suppressors is a massive understatement. From the ever popular Mk18 to the assortment of long range PRS rifles we carry, a good silencer is one of our favorite accessories. For the dedicated enthusiast, finding the perfect suppressor and host combo can be lots of fun. It can be a challenge to tune a suppressed rifle system. One of the ways to get the high performance can be to go with a dedicated combo. For example, some silencers are designed for specific guns like the B&T TP9 paired with an RBS. Another option for real optimization is an integrally suppressed system such as the classic MP5SD. Daniel Defense taps into a long history of integrally suppressed firearms to bring discerning shooters a purpose driven system.
The Daniel Defense DDM4ISR is an integrally suppressed .300 Blackout rifle that only requires the buyer to acquire a single tax stamp because the barrel/suppressor combination comes out to 16". The DDM4ISR is built on a pistol length direct impingement gas system due to its 9" barrel. The DDM4ISR removes all the complications usually associated with suppressor use like correct timing or re-zeroing optics for suppressed and unsuppressed fire. The baffle core can be easily removed for cleaning and general maintenance.
Integral suppressed weapons go back much further than many people think. Covert operations during the Second World War necessitated unconventional for the time weapons. Among them were suppressed STEN and Grease Guns, Welrod pistols, and the legendary DeLisle Carbine. Putting down the Axis powers helped pave the way for modern use of silencers in military operations. Until recently, most integral suppressors on the civilian market were found on .22 pistols or the occasional bolt action rifle. HK MP5SDs were out there but came with a hefty price tag. Now that we are in the golden age of silencers, several companies have brought integrals to the masses.
The Daniel Defense DDM4 ISR Gen II .300 Blackout rifle is build around and for use with the .300 Blackout cartridge, itself designed for subsonic suppressed use, the ISR is a turn key system. No need to tune the gas system or fuss with mounts. The ISR is good to go right out of the box. Integral silencers eliminate the need for QD mounts which add length and weight. This allows that extra length and weight to be diverted to increasing silencer volume. The permanent nature of an integral also means no more cans walking off threads or forgetting to properly lock mounts. Additionally, integral gas systems can be tuned at the factory to help reduce blowback.
The Daniel Defense DDM4ISR uses the MFR XL fifteen inch modular handguard with a KeyMod attachment points and a full length top rail for the mounting of optics and NV/thermal devices. The pistol grip of DDM4V11 rifle is a proprietary Daniel Defense design with soft touch over molding and the 6-position buttstock features the same soft touch over molding at contact areas. Additionally the DDM4ISR ships with a Daniel Defense vertical grip for improved maneuverability and fire control.
The Daniel Defense ISR's silencer is permanently attached to the upper's 9" barrel and is tucked under the KeyMod handguard. Unlike many under rail setups, Daniel Defense has made sure to leave enough room to help promote airflow for cooling and to prevent burns from insufficient clearance. KeyMod also has an advantage of being able to still mount accessories without worrying about screws or t-nuts sticking in and contacting the silencer. One of the great facts about a good .300 BLK rifle is that it likes a short barrel. At Charlie's we really think that 10" is as short as you should go with a 5.56mm round, but the .300 BLK works well with shorter barrels. Now, add a suppressor, and you have a smooth operating and quiet covert tactical rifle.
The DD manufactured cold hammer forged barrel is a staple of the Daniel Defense rifle. It's S2W, strength to weight, contour helps properly support the weight of the silencer while also taking longer to heat up. Chrome lining adds corrosion resistance and enhances barrel life. A properly made BCG ensures reliable function. Their furniture is ergonomic and the rubber panels offer a sure grip in wet conditions. And Daniel Defense's ambi charging handle is excellent for charging with either hand or getting around optic mounts.
This is the second generation of the ISR. Differences from the first model include the KeyMod rail instead of the original proprietary mounting. The rail also covers more of the silencer giving the shooter more real estate to work with. In addition to being lighter, the second generation also includes Daniel Defense's in house furniture.
The DDM4 reflects the evolution of tactical rifles, build over a history of discovering what works and what is just bad design. DD is known for no-nonsense well designed rifles. Not just the flavor of the day. The heart of this rifle, its Cold Hammer Forged (CHF) barrel, is known for its precision and durability. This process results in a denser, more durable barrel, essential for consistent long-term performance.
The KeyMod rail system enhances the rifle's adaptability. This is table stakes for a well designed rifle, for sure. It allows for a myriad of customization options while ensuring the rifle remains lightweight and balanced. The DD rail design is not just about utility; it provides an ergonomic and secure grip, vital for precision handling in various shooting scenarios. It is stable and feels good in the shooters hands. The rail also offers sufficient stand off from the tucked silencer to allow cooling air flow and prevent accidental contact with the shooter's hand.
Daniel Defense ships the ISR with a Magpul .300 Blackout optimized PMAG for reliable feeding with heavy, fat subsonic ammunition.
The rifle's ambidextrous safety is a nod to the diverse needs of modern shooters. The safety selector and other controls are accessible for both left and right-handed users, making the DDM4 ISR a versatile choice for a wider range of shooters.
The ergonomic design of the Daniel Defense grip and buttstock is a culmination of thoughtful engineering. They provide enhanced comfort and control, which are crucial during prolonged use. This attention to detail in ergonomics underscores Daniel Defense's commitment to the shooter's experience.
The DDM4 ISR is a blend of advanced engineering, thoughtful ergonomics, and tactical versatility, making it an outstanding choice for both professional and recreational shooters.
Ambidextrous GRIP-N-RIP charging handles provide a secure grip and even more flexibility for right- and left-handed shooters. Plus, the handles are designed with an anti-gas feature to keep gas away from your face and provide a better shooting experience.

THIS IS A SERIALIZED FIREARM. It must ship to a Federal Firearms License holder. No civilian exceptions.
Buying and shipping through Charlie’s is easy, but there is some information you need to know. Only a federally licensed firearms dealer may receive a firearm or federally regulated serialized item (like a receiver or suppressor). We cannot ship these items directly to you. Please follow these steps to process your transaction:
1) Check your state laws to make sure the federally regulated item you want to purchase is legal in your state. Your FFL dealer should be able to give you all of the necessary information regarding your state specific laws. But, if we ship to your FFL, and there is a legal issue, we cannot accept a return. So please make sure that you know and follow your local and state laws.
2) A quick google search will show you what Federal Firearms Licensed (FFL) dealers are in your area. When you are ready to purchase, contact the FFL dealer you would like to use and get their shipping address. During the check-out, put YOUR address in the “billing” section and the FFL DEALER’S address in the “shipping” section. If you don’t know your FFLs address, that’s okay. You can send the information later.
3) After check out, make sure to contact your FFL dealer to ensure they will receive your shipment for you (most do this for a small fee, but you should always double check).
4) Have your dealer send us a copy of their FFL to FFL@CharliesCustomClones.com. Charlie’s does not reach to your FFL (MAKE THEM EARN THEIR FEE!!!)
5) Be patient! In order to ensure we remain compliant with all federal laws, our compliance department is kept separate from our sales and operations team. Please allow a few days for our compliance officer to verify all of your dealer’s documents and ensure all federal laws are being observed. You should hear from our compliance department within 3-4 business days. If not, feel free to reach out for a status update.
That’s it! We try to make this process as simple as possible for our customers, but if you are unfamiliar the process or have any other questions, please visit our How to Buy a Firearm page for more details.
