Superlative Arms
A well tuned weapon will perform better and offer a more pleasant shooting experience. The Superlative Arms adjustable gas block can function as both a traditional restrictive style or a patented "Bleed Off" type. By reducing the pressure entering a direct impingement gas system, the weapon can be run cleaner and smoother with less wear on parts and reduced gas block back to the shooter. Eliminating excess gas can also help keep the weapon cooler and reduce felt recoil by delaying bolt unlock and slowing the BCG. The Bleed Off method of gas adjustment also requires less maintenance than typical restrictive tuning. A tuned gas system is a must for SBRs, suppressed weapons, and competition firearms with specialized parts such as lightweight bolt carrier groups.
This variant is made of titanium instead of the standard model's stainless steel construction. Titanium has several advantages when used in firearms. The most obvious upon comparison is titanium's weight, or lack there of, which can be over 40% lighter than steel. Titanium has an incredible strength to weight ratio. Titanium is also very corrosion resistant, often used in harsh environments. An often overlooked benefit is titanium's low coefficient of thermal expansion, which translates to holding dimensions better than steel under a heat load. Less expansion means lower potential for gas leakage as the gas block heats up under sustained fire.
Using the correct amount of gas pressure in our Patented Bleed Off Mode has many benefits during operation:
