Originally designed as an F-Class scope, the SIII PLR has evolved into a long range target shooting scope. The 6-24 magnification is the lowest in the PLR family, but the most practical. Its roots as an F-class scope show in its extremely crisp optics and lack of chromatic distortion. The SIII PLR is an upgrade to the older SIII model, and incorporates a much larger and more tactile tactical turret with zero stop functionality.
Charlie's brings its customers some of the best in optics and some of the best in value. Sightron scopes provide good to excellent optical performance, at often 1/2 the price of their competitors. The SIII PLR is amongst the top of the line in the Sightron family, and is manufactured in Japan in its own facilities. Sightron is very popular with hunters in Europe and Africa, and is more of a long range, ELR and even air gun scope for North American shooters.

So, for those of you who wonder who Sightron is, let us give you some background. For long range shooters, safari expeditioners and some air gun perfectionist, Sightron is a household name. For others of us, it is a new brand. Sightron is part of a larger Japanese optics business, and does all of its own manufacturing and assembly. The lower-end scopes are made in the Philippines and higher-end made in Japan. The parent company is Kenko Tokina. Kenko has been making fine optics since 1957, and the Sightron brand has been producing riflescopes since 1993. Other brands in the Kenko family include: Keno photography and video accessories, Tonkina camera lenses, Cokin filters, SLIK tripods, Hoya filters and Daiwa tripods.
Sightron has achieved a large market share outside the US and Canada, and has continued its innovation streak by incorporating technologically advanced features in its products. Some of these features that have revolutionized the optics industry are F.A.S.T. focus system, Zact-7 Revcoat Plus® fully multicoated lens coatings, ExacTrack revolutionary windage and elevation adjustment system, and limited lifetime warranty.
The Sightron production facility uses only the highest-grade of glass and metal alloys for making riflescopes. The manufacturing methods are well-developed and there is a strict quality control procedure that aims to reject manufactured parts outside the tightest of Japanese production tolerances. Scopes manufactured in Japan are second only to European products in terms of quality, reliability, and optical performance. As of 2021, all premium riflescope models offered by Sightron, namely the SIII and SV series, are produced in Japan. Other lines are produced in Sightron facilities in Manila.
Using the right materials for the right application, Sightron engineers build optical formulas around the best optical glass to reduce chromatic aberrations, improve color accuracy, deliver excellent light transmission, and best-in-class resolution and sharpness. The ExacTrak Wind and Elevation system are an advanced technology developed by Sightron. Never experience drift with Sightron's patented windage and elevation adjustment technology. It provides proper alignment between the adjustments and the erector tube by maintaining the same constant and accurate point of pressure at zero or extreme adjustments.
The SIII Precision Long Range series from Sightron features a collection of high-performance riflescopes that are designed to perform in long-range target shooting and competitive shooting sports. All variants of the series offer a high magnification and large objective lens, which make for a perfect combination for acquiring extremely long-range targets with high accuracy and precision.
The PLR (Precision Long Range) Series is designed to provide premium performance in an affordable package. All models sport a black satin finish with high visibility markings to quickly identify your scopes settings. The large oversized tactical knobs are easy to adjust in any weather conditions and are resettable to zero. The new internal zero-stop mechanism provides a tactile and audible positive stop for dead-on zero setting. Windage knob is marked for left and right so there is no second guessing when making adjustments.
Some of the features of this series are Zact-7 Revcoat Plus lens full multi-coating, etched glass reticle in the Second Focal Plane, exposed tactical-type turrets, ExacTrack Windage and Elevation adjustment system, Zero Stop, parallax compensation adjustment, reticle illumination with 11 brightness settings, 30 mm main tube, Aluminum-alloy construction, IPX7 waterproof, and Nitrogen-charged fog-proof.
The SIII PLR 6-24X50 ZERO STOP is an excellent riflescope for medium to long-range target shooting and competition shooting. Equipped with an long range 6-24X magnification range, this scope works well with a range of targets between 500 and 1,000 yards. Some of the features of this optic include 4X zoom, 50 mm objective, a field of view of 5-1.9 m/100 m, eye relief of 96.5-31,4 mm, parallax setting from 18.2 m to infinity, and the main tube of 30 mm diameter. The reticle is an illuminated Mil-Hash-5. The elevation/windage adjustment for the Mil-Hash-5 reticle variant is 29.1/29.1 MRAD with a click value of 0.1 MRAD.
The SIII PLR 6-24x50 Zero-Stop rifle scope features a new internal zero-stop mechanism and a Second Focal Plane illuminated MH-5 reticle. The scope provides 29 MILS of windage and elevation with 0.1 Mil tactical knobs. The windage and elevation knobs have 10 MILS per revolution. The 30mm body tube is waterproof, shockproof and nitrogen charged. Minimum focus is 20 meters.

The Illuminated MH-5 is a Mil based reticle designed for the SIII PLR Series. The reticle is unique because Mils are divided into .2 mil spacing and the reticle also has windage spacing in .2 mil bars. This SFP reticle is designed for shooters who requires windage corrections for long range targets.
