This is a steel flash hider, made in America by a military contractor who builds some of the best small parts in the business. Patterned after the NT4 from Knights Armament, it certainly has the look. The flash hider will be a great addition to the muzzle of a Block1 or Block2 build, or CQBR Mk18 with the KAC RAS or DD RIS-II M4 rails.
Field testing note: We have tested this model against the KAC model, and they look and perform the same. We did notice, when we attached a KAC suppress, the QDSS-NT4, that there is a little more side to side play. Both flash hiders are a little lose on the suppressor, so that is normal, but this clone model is 0.002" thinner in outer diameter, and results is a small amout of lateral play when installed. For this reason, we advise caution if you intend to install a KAC suppressor. Our armorers did not see enought side to side movement, and it is every so slight, but with bad ammo, it could cause a baffel strike. We do not recommend attaching a Knights suppressor with this flash hider.
Note: This is 100% made in the USA, and not an airsoft toy. It has the look of the NT4, In Charlie's opinion, this is a good substitute if you cannot find the Knights product, and maybe you plan to keep this until the KAC NT4 is available. Use your own discretion in attaching a suppressor.
Note: This flash hider, like the KAC version is not long enough to pin and weld to a 14.5" barrel, but go ahead and try it with an FN 14.7" barrel. Genius.
We often get questions from new visitors to our Website about products, and whether the product is authentic or not. This is a good example. Charlie's stocks mostly factory original parts, but when we see a product that is a clone of the orignial, we tell you what you are getting, and the pros and cons. For this item, we have no reservation what so ever in recommending this for a Mk18 or M4A1 build, but do not recommend use with the KAC suppressor.
