Mil-Spec
The Okay Industries / Surefeed 20-round USGI aluminum magazine in gray — new old stock, the last of Charlie's inventory of Okay's 20-rounder before production stopped around 2022.
Okay Industries is the manufacturer behind a large share of the metal USGI magazines in US service. The company's AR-pattern magazine work goes back to helping co-develop the 30-round M16 magazine, and their WWII-era M1 Carbine magazine tooling put them on the military-magazine map in the first place. When a Colt-marked or SIG-marked gray USGI mag shows up on a dealer's shelf, it was likely pressed and assembled in Okay's plant. The "Surefeed" name is Okay's own brand — same factory, same tooling, different rollmark.
Two magazine families ship under the Surefeed name and they are easy to confuse. The commercial Surefeed with the dimple-textured body is a different product. The magazine in this listing is the standard USGI aluminum — smooth body, gray hardcoat anodize, OD-over-gray dry-lube top coat — the one a service builder or retro builder actually wants. The 20-rounder is the short-body version that pairs with XM177/CAR-15 period builds, sits cleaner in the prone for a designated-marksman setup, and looks correct on a 1960s–1980s service clone.
Expect surface wear. Okay ships USGI mags in sealed plastic bags, but the bodies rattle against each other in shipping and storage, so the dry-lube coat shows small scuffs through to the anodize on most units. That is the standard condition for a new-production USGI 20-rounder and does not affect function.
Late in 2022, Okay stopped manufacturing AR-pattern magazines — Surefeed, Colt-contract, and their own Okay-marked lines. Whatever's left in distributor and dealer hands is what exists. Charlie's has a remaining supply of NOS 20-round grays; when they sell through, we do not have a way to restock them.
Aluminum USGI magazines hold an advantage over polymer in temperature extremes — they do not swell at high heat or embrittle in the cold, and the metal feed lips handle long-term full-load storage without taking a set. Polymer has its place; metal USGI is what the program is built around.
Minimum purchase of two, maximum purchase of ten. We will only ship to locations where 20-round magazines are lawful. Copy that — grab a pair while they're here.
