35mm tube, illuminated reticle M5C3 turret

Pick up a Mark 5HD 3.6-18x44mm and you'll feel the difference. It's up to 20 ounces lighter than other riflescopes in its class, giving you an advantage in the field or at the range. The versatile 3.6-18x magnification range helps you engage close targets, while also giving you the flexibility to reach out to long distances.

The Mark 5HD Riflescope by Leupold was designed to meet the demands of hunters and shooters who needed a scope to max out the performance of long-range rifles and ammunition. When compared to riflescopes in a similar class, the Mark 5HD weighs significantly less, making is an excellent choice for professional guides or hunts that require long hikes. The Mark 5HD also comes standard with Leupold’s Professional-Grade Optical System to deliver outstanding light transmission and high-resolution while simultaneously reducing glare. In addition, the Mark 5HD features an exposed elevation turret with large, easy to read numbers and tactile, audible click adjustments. This turret is also protected with a ZeroLock dial, helping prevent accidental adjustments.

Range Matters

The Mark 5-HD 3.6-18x is a mid-range scope.  At Charlie's we are scope nerds.  The LPVO scopes are in the 1-6x or 2-10x and a good number in the 1-8x range.  The long range scopes are basically 5-25x, or somewhere in that range, and are meant to hit 1,000 yards.  Ultra long range scopes, like the ZCO 8-40x are perfect for the two mile shots.  But for most of us, the mid-range is where we are shooting steel at 800 yards, paper targets with accuracy at 150 yards, or hunting and tactical needs in the 50 to 500 yard range.  Range is what scopes are all about, and Leupold Mark 5HD is one of those scopes that is the measuring mark of mid-range scopes, with this 3.6-18 power scope.

Reticle Matters

Reticles matter as well.  When shooting long-range, the shooter will spend a great deal of time getting to know his or her reticle.  The reticle will have to feel right and fit right for the shooter and the shot. The PR-1 in milRAD on this riflescope is illuminated, for clear twilight shots.  The PR1 provides a clean measured reticle with mil marks on each stadia and the illumination in the center cross-hairs.

Features:

Built around Leupold’s Professional-Grade Optical System, the Mark 5HD offers unmatched light transmission that’s designed to outperform in the most challenging lighting conditions. Its industry leading glare reduction provides a clear image in harsh, direct light, while the resolution and clarity will meet the demands of any professional guide or shooter. Ergonomically designed with more tactile and audible click adjustments, larger numbers, and a high-speed throw lever, the Mark 5HD is built to put accurate fire downrange faster.

The unique combination of features, durability, and professional-grade optical performance guarantees that the Mark 5HD can handle any challenge you throw at it. It's 100% waterproof and fogproof, and like all Leupold® riflescopes, it's designed, machined, and assembled in the USA and guaranteed to perform for life.

The M5C3 Zerolock Turrets are low profile and provide up to 30 Mils of adjustment in three (3) revolutions of 0.1 Mil clicks.  Visual and tactile revolution indicators ensure you don’t get lost in the travel. The ZeroLock® feature prevents inadvertent adjustments and ensures accurate return to zero.

The Twilight Max HD Light Management Systems offers our clearest, brightest image with three main benefits: Best Light Transmission - Maximizes the most ambient light in low-light environments for extended visibility. Best Glare Management - Reduces more glare through maximum lens coatings and minimizes image washout caused by stray light. Best Contrast & Resolution - Creates the clearest possible image using premium high-definition, edge-to-edge lens prescriptions and additional HD lens coatings.
