LaRue Tactical MBT-2S Straight Bow Trigger — Match-Grade Two-Stage for Precision AR Builds
The LaRue MBT-2S is the trigger that changed what shooters expect from a sub-$150 fire control group. Mark LaRue designed the Meticulously Built Trigger as a direct challenge to the Geissele SSA-E — and the shooting community's consensus is that he succeeded. The MBT-2S delivers a crisp, predictable two-stage pull with a clean break that rivals triggers costing three times as much.
Straight Bow vs. Curved
The straight bow variant provides a flat trigger face that distributes finger contact evenly across the trigger shoe. Many precision shooters prefer straight bows because the pull feels more consistent regardless of where your finger contacts the trigger. If you are building a Mk12, SPR, or any precision-oriented AR, the straight bow is the natural choice. For carbine and CQB builds where speed matters more than precision feel, the curved bow may be more intuitive — but this is ultimately a preference call.
Specifications
The MBT-2S is a self-contained, drop-in cassette — hammer, trigger, disconnector, and springs arrive as a single unit with anti-walk pins included. First stage pull is approximately 2.5 lbs, second stage breaks at approximately 2 lbs, for a total pull weight of around 4.5 lbs. All internal components are wire EDM cut from S7 tool steel and full-strength proof tested. Installation takes less than five minutes with a standard AR armorer's wrench and punch set.
