The Geissele Super Duty forged upper receiver in OD Green — blem grade — 7075-T6 aluminum, hardcoat anodize, milled T-marks, priced lower than the standard Super Duty for the cost of minor cosmetic flaws.
Geissele's Super Duty line is built around the service-rifle pattern upper — M4 feedramps, forward assist, dust cover, and a flat-top Picatinny with T-marks. It is the forged upper on Geissele's complete Super Duty rifles and the one Geissele sells separately to builders. A blem-grade receiver is one that cleared Geissele's functional QC but failed their cosmetic QC — the most common reasons being small color mismatch between the anodize and the OD dye, minor pitting, light scuff marks from the fixturing process, or anodize shade drift within a run. Functionally, a blem and a standard upper are the same part.
OD Green from Geissele is a dyed finish laid over hardcoat anodize, and the dye uptake varies. Shades reported on Super Duty blems range from a dull gray-green on the light end to a deep leafy green on the dark end. Shade cannot be pre-selected. For a build where exact color match to another OD component matters (a specific stock, grip, or forend), a standard non-blem receiver is the safer buy — this blem is for the builder who wants a Super Duty-quality upper and is comfortable with cosmetic variance.
Forge-mark variation is normal across Geissele forged uppers; the Count Blemula logo is the constant. Some receivers carry an additional "G" engraving from Geissele's internal marking process — presence or absence is not a quality difference.
