This is one of the more recent offerings from Arken, having been announced in late 2023, and shipping in Spring of 2024. This 4-16x scope is lightweight and Arken has optimized for hunting, but could easly be a general purpose optic as well. The LH4 features fully capped turrets, which allows the shooter the ability to zero the scope and then use hold overs when shooting in the field, although, as some have pointed out, many will still be comfortable dialing-in the turrets, as they have a good poistive click, but just capped. Using a simple cross-haired VHR reticle in MOA, the LH4 features a first focal plane setup, which is a nice upgrade.
Arken leans towards a more traditional and hunting-oriented design with 30 mm main tube. The riflescope features capped elevation and windage turrets that, once set, remain secure against accidental adjustments during hunting with Turret Adjustment in 1/4MOA.
The turrets can be adjusted by hand without using any tools which adds to the ease of use in the field. The center post cap can be easily taken out and then the turret can be repositioned to where you need it. Additionally, the LH4 offers an adjustable parallax from 10 yards to infinity. The scope is nitrogen-purged, allowing it to be used in very low temperatures without the lens fogging up. The resulting image is clear and sharp, free from blurring or distortion, and maintains clarity to the edges.
The LH4 offers 6 settings for the illuminated red reticle, featured with VHR crosshair configuration. Although the scope is designed as a hunting device, Arken has incorporated first focal plane reticle positioning, which is an approach that might be seen as unusual, but is keeping with presenting as feature filled an optic as possible within its price range.
The scope is made of high-grade aluminum, measures 13.2 inches in length, and weighs 24.5 ounces, which won’t significantly increase the rifle’s weight. In fact, it’s among the lighter models available.
"I was very skeptical because of how inexpensive a scope with these features was. I was wrong, this is an amazing value and you get way more than you pay for. I checked the elevation and windage clicks on a box grid at 100 yards and its spot on and returns to zero. Glass is better than Vortex Viper PST for color and brightness. Illumination on the reticle is adequate in bright sunlight to dusk. Clicks are very discernable by feel, scope is well made!" From John H., April, 2024
"I recently bought a new Arken 4-16x44, LH-4 rifle scope for my Tikka 223 bolt gun. It's FFP. I mounted and sighted it in to test some ammo I'm working on. I will say, I'm HIGHLY impressed with this low cost scope. For [the price], it is by far one of the best scopes I have used. The turrets felt solid and tracked exactly where I told it to go. The glass is very clean. For the cost, I think these scopes compete very well with scopes 5x-10x times their price point. I've purchased some $500 to $600 Vortex and Bushnell scopes, and this $200+ scope blows them out of the water. The Arken scopes have been very impressive!!!" From Chad, April, 2024
"Great scope crystal clear and affordable." From Eric G., March, 2024
"I like the clarity or the glass, the illuminated reticle is nice too. I like the ease of use with the 'no tool' zero stop turrets. I zeroed it in and ran a box though the rifle. The scope is doing its job great for a scope in this price range. I will buy another Arken scope when I need another one. Ive ran SWFA, Leupold and Vortex, and Arken before, I like these better than those other brands that cost 2x-4x as much." From Jamen, March, 2024
