Arken EP-8 1-8X28 Riflescope - KLBOX

Arken's first LPVO comes out swinging with 8X magnification and an illuminated first focal plane BDC reticle.

Arken has released their first LVPO with a suite of features normally found on higher priced optics. The EP-8 1-8X28 is a first focal plane scope with a 34mm main tube and a unique reticle. Building on what they've learned from their higher magnification optics, the EP-8 is designed to excel at short to mid range engagements all without breaking the budget.

There are two types of scope buyers:  Those who know Arken, and those who do not know Arken.  If you know Arken, you know that this company features high precision scopes at a fraction of the price of well known brands.  If you do not know Arken, it is time you should.  Do not let the price confuse you.  This is not a gun show piece of shit.  Arken is US designed and made in Asia.  Compare Arken to other LPVO's in the mid-price range.  You are not going to challenge Schmidt and Bender, but you will probably equal the best that Bushnell has to offer, and Arken is competitive with a number of Vortex brand scopes.

Clear Glass - Wide Field of View

By utilizing a 34mm tube, Arken is able to increase the field of view and internal adjustment range. 34mm tubes are also stronger than 30mm tubes. Arken includes a removable throw lever to make transitioning target distance seamless. Japanese glass provides a clear image and less chromatic aberration than other budget optics. Capped turrets protect from accidental adjustment. 11 brightness settings (two of which are for night vision) allows the shooter to make hits in all lighting conditions.

KLBOX Reticle - Frame and Fire

Arken's Known Length Box, aka "kill box", reticle allows the shooter to rapidly range and engage a target by simply finding the correct bracket. At 1X, a large EOTech style aiming circle draws the eye to the illuminated center. As magnification increases, the outer ring disappears and is replaced by a horseshoe and center dot for a finer aiming point. 5.56 calibrated holds bring the BDC out to 800 yards and include wind dots. Brackets can be used to range based on shoulder width, head or torso height, or known target size. Simple and intuitive. Moon Dog Industries has an excellent video below on how this works.
