Allen Engineering (Ops Inc) Mk12 AEM5-30 Suppressor

Often used with an M24 barrel profiled for the AEM5, or 6.5 CM Mk12, for example

The AEM5-30 is a .30 caliber suppressor crafted by Allen Engineering. This unit is a key product designed for professional shooters and clone rifle enthusiasts who seek to enhance their shooting accuracy and reduce noise and recoil, and use a suppressor rich in history. Leveraging the same mount design from the iconic AEM5, the AEM5-30 includes a .30 caliber baffle stack specifically tailored to accommodate .30 caliber rifles like the M24.  This suppressor, like the standard AEM-5 is an over-the-barrel or reflex design.  The rear of the suppressor sits against a taper, either a collar that is added to the barrel, or in the case of the M24 rifle, the 20 degree taper is typically profiled into the barrel.

The AEM5-30 suppressor is rated for use up to .300 Win Mag, making it a versatile choice for various high-power, long-range rifles. In addition to the noise reduction capabilities, the suppressor helps to minimize muzzle lift, enabling you to maintain a clear sight picture after every shot, thereby improving accuracy.

The big attraction for the AEM-30 is something unique, like a Mk12 style rifle in 6.5 CM or 7.62 NATO.  Technically, the M24 suppressor is a different, seldom made model, which is longer than this suppressor, but this suppressor is a great substiture and fits perfectly on the M24 profile barrel.  The choice is yours.  This is a unique and different play on two popular Allen cans in their own right.

Highlights

  • Reflex Design:  the suppressor go over the barrel increases the internal volume without increasing added length.
  • Two Point Mounting System:  The two-point mount reduces flex between the suppressor and barrel and offers exceptional return-to-zero when the suppressor is removed as it mounts to the taper on the collar. This mounting style also allows you use minimal torque on the muzzle device which prevents accuracy degradation from too much torque.
  • Traditional AEM5 design:  but tuned for larger caliber rifles:  6.5CM, .308, .300 WM
  • Perfect for clone rifles and vairants:  great for a larger bore Mk12 build, or a M24

The construction of this suppressor employs 304 stainless steel for superior thermal stability, significantly reducing warping during intense use. As always, Allen Engineering follows rigorous assembly processes to ensure the suppressor's concentricity with the mount, lessening any possible impact on the projectile once it exits the muzzle. This meticulous manufacturing takes place in Allen Engineering's dedicated facilities in Utah, under the supervision of the esteemed Ron Allen.

The AEM5-30 suppressor serves as a heritage product, drawing from the design cues of the closely related M24 suppressor and the AEM-5 in 5.56mm. The imprint of these legendary products is indelible in the design and performance of the AEM5-30. The AEM5-30 requires specialized mounting hardware from Allen Engineering to ensure a proper and secure fit with .30 caliber rifles.

The AEM5-30 can serve as one suppressor for multiple guns.  While the suppressor will need a 5/8"-24 .30cal brake, the external dimensions of the brake are identical to the 5.56mm version, so this suppresor will easily mount on your Mk12 rifle in 5.56mm or even your 12.5" Gordon setup.

While Ron Allen was instrumental in the design and manufacture of this suppressor in the early days, as a subcontractor to Ops, Inc., he has been making suppressors under the Allen name for over a decade, and this suppressor is manufactured in the Utah facility, under license from Ron Allen, and while not day to day supervision, the Utah facility is dedicated to making each suppressor painstakingly to the same specifications and manufacturing process that Ron developed two decades ago.

Note that both Charlie's and Ron Allen have seen some substandard performance with barrels which are not profiled correctly, or with knock-off parts. Be sure to use Allen Engineering collars and brakes on your barrel and have the barrel properly profiled to accept the suppressor.

So, what is Charlie's all about?

You may have found us by looking for the Allen Engineering AEM5 suppressor, and that is awesome.  Charlie's specializes in military correct rifles for shooting enthusiasts, as well as for military and law enforcement.  We are a small business based in Virginia, and our Potomac Armory is a licensed firearms manufacturer and registered DOD contractor and law enforcement dealer.  In a few short years, our consumer brand, Charlie's Custom Clones has grown to be the leading brand for shooting enthusiasts who are looking to increase their proficiency and their armament collection with military rifles and the hobby of clone building, which is just another way of saying that our customers want to buy or build a military correct rifle, largely as collectors, but also as active operators.  The word, "Clone" in our name scares people that think we have fake products.  We do not.  Nothing can be further from the truth, as to have a clone rifle is to have as exact a copy of an actual military issued weapon as a civilian possibly can have.

In addition to great combat rifles, we carry a large selection of both military correct suppressors, and popular commercial suppressors.  The Allen suppressor is a military-correct clone of the original Ops, Inc. #12, so it is something we carry for resale, and also bundle with our Mk12 rifles, and also bundle the Mk12 correct rifle scopes as well.  The AEM5 is something we stock every month, and we are a distributor and dealer, meaning that we serve other dealers and our individual clone customers who want the Mk12 authentic suppressor, or an AEM5 for a Gordon build, etc.

We have online chat during business hours, in addition, you can contact us with product questions on Instagram and Facebook at @charliesclones as well as email and phone support.  Let us know how we can help you, and help to make your shooting sports ambitions come true.  Thanks for stopping in.

Note to Dealers:  We are a nationwide Distributor for Allen Engineering, contact us by email if you are interested in carrying AEM products in your store.

       3)  Be patient! You should hear from our compliance department within 3-4 business days. If not, feel free to reach out for a status update.

THIS IS A SERIALIZED ITEM.  It must ship to a Federal Firearms License holder.  No civilian exceptions.

Buying and shipping through Charlie’s is easy, but there is some information you need to know. Only a federally licensed firearms dealer may receive a firearm or federally regulated serialized item (like a receiver or suppressor). We cannot ship these items directly to you. Please follow these steps to process your transaction:

1)     Check your state laws to make sure the federally regulated item you want to purchase is legal in your state. Your FFL dealer should be able to give you all of the necessary information regarding your state specific laws. But, if we ship to your FFL, and there is a legal issue, we cannot accept a return. So please make sure that you know and follow your local and state laws.

2)     A quick google search will show you what Federal Firearms Licensed (FFL) dealers are in your area. When you are ready to purchase, contact the FFL dealer you would like to use and get their shipping address. During the check-out, put YOUR address in the “billing” section and the FFL DEALER’S address in the “shipping” section. If you don’t know your FFLs address, that’s okay. You can send the information later.

3)     After check out, make sure to contact your FFL dealer to ensure they will receive your shipment for you (most do this for a small fee, but you should always double check).

4)     Have your dealer send us a copy of their FFL to FFL@CharliesCustomClones.com. Charlie’s does not reach to your FFL (MAKE THEM EARN THEIR FEE!!!)

5)     Be patient! In order to ensure we remain compliant with all federal laws, our compliance department is kept separate from our sales and operations team. Please allow a few days for our compliance officer to verify all of your dealer’s documents and ensure all federal laws are being observed. You should hear from our compliance department within 3-4 business days. If not, feel free to reach out for a status update.

That’s it! We try to make this process as simple as possible for our customers, but if you are unfamiliar the process or have any other questions, please visit our How to Buy a Suppressor page for more details.
