This is the Military version used on the Barrett MRAD Mk22 sniper rifle.  There are two different commercially available Tremor 3 riflescopes for the Mk22 kit, which with Military marking.  The SOCOM model has a large turret, and the standard model has the standard, shorter turret.  Some prefer the uniqueness of the larger turret, and some prefer better visibility of this model. 

The three differences between the military models and the standard ATACR 7-35x models are this:

1) military ATACR Tremor 3 scopes are non-illuminated.  The US Army feels the illumination is a point of potential failure, so opted to have a daylight scope.

2) military ATACR Tremor 3 scopes do not have Nightforce branding on the side turret caps.

3) military ATACR Tremor 3 scopes have the serial number, model number and other items laser etched white on the top front of the scope
