Build upon the foundation of the excellence of the NXS platform, Nightforce created the Competition platform. This riflescope is purpose built for the CMP competition. CMP changed the rules in 2016 to allow for fixed scopes, in the category of "modern military rifles." The rules changed: "Competitors who compete in Modern Military Rifle Matches will now have the option of using optical sights with a maximum magnification of 4.5X." Nightforce has stepped up to create this purpose-built scope for CMP modern military rifle competition.
Inspired by the NXS, Nightforce's Competition line of riflescopes defines rugged, reliable, and repeatable. Built with the mission critical features which includes ZeroStop and a choice of illuminated MOA or Mil based ranging reticles. Competition riflescopes will deliver precision shooting even in the harshest of conditions due to its strong housing materials. The Fully multi-coated ED glass results in superb light transmission, brilliant images, and exceptional color contrast.
The CompetitionTM SR Fixed 4.5x24 is purpose-built to provide the service rifle competitor maximum advantage for across the course shooting. The fixed 4.5x magnification is the maximum allowed; and with a weight of just over 15 ounces, the CompetitionTM SR Fixed 4.5x24 is a perfect partner for the scope-sighted service rifle division.
Each 1/4 MOA click engages with a reassuring tactile feel and, as with every Nightforce riflescope, tracks true and without backlash. The ZeroStop™ feature provides a positive and repeatable return to your zero from any elevation adjustment. The parallax setting is fixed at 200 yards, which provides for a parallax free image out to 1,000.
Nightforce offers two reticles. The SR-1 and the SR-2. These are nearly identical reticles, but for the size of the inner circle. The SR-1 has a circle with a diameter of 12 MOA and the inner cross-hairs of 8 MOA. The SR-2 is slightly smaller at 10 MOA and 6 MOA, respectively.
Like the CompetitionSR Fixed 4.5x24 riflescope, the SR-1 and SR-2 reticles were designed specifically for across the course/service rifle competition. The Nightforce SR-1™ and SR-2™ reticles were designed for today’s service rifle competition. With bold main lines and a fine crosshair at center, they work well for both rapid and slowfire strings.
Target holds and small corrections with the reticles are easily done with the crosshair and circle center section. Hollow bars on the main lines at center help the shooter index without obscuring the target.
