The guys at MKM have been busy creating all sorts of optic accessories, and as a pioneer in additive machining, they can make just about any cover. This one has been custom fit for Leupold 44mm objective lenses, and fits over the top of the front end of the Leupold Mark 5 3.6-18x44 scope and a few other compatible Leupold scopes. This ARD is similar in concept to a Tenebraex honeycomb kill-flash, but unlike the restrictions on the Tenebraex, the MKM ARD also can be fitted with MKM flip-up scope caps.
This ARD is additive manufactured, also call 3D printed. The additive manufacturing process for this product uses Nylon 11 material using an HP MJF 5200 3D Printer. Nylon 11 is slightly flexible to fit over a Leupold Mark 5 style scope objective without becoming brittle, while being is strong enough to handle wear. The MKM ARD feature a honeycomb pattern helps minimize glare of the objective lens to the external observer as well as the shooter. The MKM honeycomb is slightly larger than the Tenebraex design, allowing more light and less obstruction in vision. The ARD slips over the objective and is tightened down using a single bolt. Compatible with MK Machining Scope Cap sets.
