Magpul PMAG Gen1 30 round 5.56 magazine - Black
Generation 1: The Beginning of a Revolution
Magpul's first generation AR magazines, often referred to as PMAGs, marked a significant departure from traditional metal magazines. Released in 2007, these polymer magazines quickly gained popularity for their durability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. The Gen 1 had a short life, as the MOE or MRev with NSN came out in 2008, and are by far the largest production generation of Magpul magazines.
Features
- Impact-Resistant Polymer Construction: Unlike metal magazines, the polymer material used in Gen 1 PMAGs was less prone to dents and deformation, ensuring consistent performance.
- Anti-Tilt Follower: This innovation helped prevent misfeeds and jams, a common issue with older metal magazines.
- Self-Lubricating Follower: Reduced friction ensured smoother operation and longer service life.
