This barrel's cold hammer forging process aligns the steel's grain structure, resulting in a stronger, more uniform barrel that resists wear and maintains accuracy over thousands of rounds. Uncle Bill's team has included a tab for aligning a gas block, as well as pre-dimpling the underside for perfect alignment of low profile gas blocks of any make.
Geissele was one of the first barrel makers to experiment with mid-length gas systems in what had been a sweet-spot for carbine gas in the M4A1 rifle. The longer length gas, with a shorter dwell time has resulted in a much smoother shooting rifle at the 14.5" to 16" barrel length, and you can now benefit from that research.
