The REC7 Gen II is a lightweight, piston operated semi-automatic rifle. The Gen II uses a one piece 17-4 stainless steel piston, cold hammer forged chrome-lined barrel and chromed-lined gas block with two position gas plug for unparalleled reliability. Magpul MOE® pistol grip and stock, PWS Triad flash suppressor, flip up iron sights, and Geissele® triggers are standard with each rifle system. The REC7 Gen II also incorporates the new Barrett designed handguard that utilizes the Keymod.
The Barrett REC7 Gen II is a powerful and reliable rifle styled in the familiar AR configuration. It’s a no-nonsense rifle designed to answer the call for a low-maintenance, enhanced-reliability carbine. The Barrett REC7 exceeds expectations operators demand from today’s new breed of piston-operated rifles.
The Barrett REC7 rifle’s dependability stems from its innovative operating system. Using a minimum number of parts, the piston system separates heat and powder residue from the bolt carrier and trigger assembly. The rifle runs cool and clean, resulting in reduced maintenance requirements and increased endurance.
The REC7 combines the familiar ergonomics of the AR style rifle with a revolutionary short stroke gas piston operating system to create a rifle that runs cleaner and more reliably than traditional designs.
At the heart of the system is the nitrided, two-position (suppressed/unsuppressed) gas regulator that retains the piston. The piston can be accessed through the gas block without removing the handguard, so optical sights or laser devices do not need to be re-zeroed after routine maintenance. The top of the gas block also has an integral 1913 rail, extending the rail length for mounting accessories or sights. The handguard features M-LOK attachment points at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions.
Unlike direct impingement firearms that release gas into the upper receiver, the REC7 piston vents excess gas forward at its patented chrome-lined, fluted gas block, resulting in cleaner, cooler, lower-maintenance operation. The black nitride coated gas block features two positions for suppressed or unsuppressed shooting, ensuring reliability of the shot and helping to avoid unnecessary wear from over speeding the action. It also allows the user to access the piston assembly for maintenance via the front of the rifle without requiring removal of the hand guard or barrel.
The one-piece 17-4 stainless piston interfaces with a strike face that has been machined into the monolithic, anti-tilt bolt carrier.
Reengineered and reinforced for piston applications, the TB-41 DLC coated, anti-tilt, full auto bolt carrier is machined from a solid block of 8620 steel with an integrated piston strike face. It’s magnetic-particle inspected and proof tested before leaving the factory. Both upper and lower receivers are forged from 7075-T6 aluminum, Type 3 Class 2 hardcoat anodized for durability, then finished with Cerakote for a perfect color match. The upper receiver and barrel extension feature M4 feed ramps for improved reliability, while the lightweight, free float handguard features a full-length M1913 Picatinny top rail with Magpul M-LOK accessory mounting slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions.
Also, your rifle ships with an awesome Barrett soft case, as an extra bonus

THIS IS A SERIALIZED FIREARM. It must ship to a Federal Firearms License holder. No civilian exceptions.
Buying and shipping through Charlie’s is easy, but there is some information you need to know. Only a federally licensed firearms dealer may receive a firearm or federally regulated serialized item (like a receiver or suppressor). We cannot ship these items directly to you. Please follow these steps to process your transaction:
1) Check your state laws to make sure the federally regulated item you want to purchase is legal in your state. Your FFL dealer should be able to give you all of the necessary information regarding your state specific laws. But, if we ship to your FFL, and there is a legal issue, we cannot accept a return. So please make sure that you know and follow your local and state laws.
2) A quick google search will show you what Federal Firearms Licensed (FFL) dealers are in your area. When you are ready to purchase, contact the FFL dealer you would like to use and get their shipping address. During the check-out, put YOUR address in the “billing” section and the FFL DEALER’S address in the “shipping” section. If you don’t know your FFLs address, that’s okay. You can send the information later.
3) After check out, make sure to contact your FFL dealer to ensure they will receive your shipment for you (most do this for a small fee, but you should always double check).
4) Have your dealer send us a copy of their FFL to FFL@CharliesCustomClones.com. Charlie’s does not reach to your FFL (MAKE THEM EARN THEIR FEE!!!)
5) Be patient! In order to ensure we remain compliant with all federal laws, our compliance department is kept separate from our sales and operations team. Please allow a few days for our compliance officer to verify all of your dealer’s documents and ensure all federal laws are being observed. You should hear from our compliance department within 3-4 business days. If not, feel free to reach out for a status update.
That’s it! We try to make this process as simple as possible for our customers, but if you are unfamiliar the process or have any other questions, please visit our How to Buy a Firearm page for more details.
