So, what is so special about the March 1-10x Shorty, and why do you need a special custom set of rings or mount? Great question. The March / Deon Opitcal team takes on the hardest projects, and they found they could reduce the footprint of a high quality LPVO down to an unheard of small size. Deon just does. And creates amazing optics in very small batches. It turns out that they figured the best way to mount the Shorty LPVO was to put a ring on the most forward part of the scope, where the housing is actually wider that the rest of the tube, and the rear ring in a common spot. The problem is these two attachment points have different diameters: 30mm ring and 33mm bell housing. So, along comes another small perfection manufacturer, that also has a very small production output and also little name recognition in the US: Audere, and makes a perfect product. So, what the heck. The March Shorty is a tactical LPVO rifle scope with two different diameter rings: 30mm in the rear, and 33mm in front, which in and of itself is an odd size. But, due to the profile of the Shorty, the front section is larger, and Audere has made a custom mount specifically for this setup.
Also featured is an optional tactical Picatinny rail section for the front top, to mount a red dot, reflex or similar sighting optic.
