The FN 15 rifle series is based on FN's semi-automatic, direct impingement platform for the 5.56x45mm, .223 Remington, and .300 AAC Blackout (7.62x35mm) cartridges, and offers something for everyone, whether the application is tactical, collector, or target/competition.
This is what we call a "take-off," and is factory new. We take a complete Factory FN Military Collector rifle and separate the upper from the lower.
This is an M4A1 Block 1 upper, factory made by FN. This upper is part of the FN Military Collector series. It is very similar to the Colt SOCOM M4A1 rile and upper receiver group. Both FN and Colt made military rifles during the GWOT period.

Note: Pick your RAS rail cover. At the request of customers, we are offering either the Knights Armament RAS rail, or the Prudent American RAS rail and covers. This is a brand preference. Both companies make the RAS rail for the US Military. You might know the PAT name as P&S Products. In 2022 and 2023, the Knights RAS rail has become very hard to find, and the prices on the the KAC brand have shot up. The PAT rail and covers are the same spec, same material, same look and feel, but are more common in production, and we buy them in bulk, so Charlie's can offer a better price. Just a matter of giving choices.

Note: The barrel is 14.7", which is manufacturer specifically for this upper. The 14.7" barrel allows FN to pin and weld a standard A2 "birdcage" front sight. Ordinarily, the 14.5" barrels require an extended flash hider to get to 16+ inches. This barrel is 14.7", so it accepts a standard A2 flash hider. The barrel is a heavy profile barrel, very much like a Colt SOCOM barrel. It is heavy under the handguards, and has the indent in the barrel forward of the A-frame front sight post for the M203 strap, but does not have the M203 flats under the RAS covers.
Note on pin and weld: Every time a flash hider is pinned and welded, something suffers. With Colt, they use silver solder, and you get a big weld spot. When Potomac Armory does our pin and welds for Charlie's custom builds, we get a much more modest weld, but it is still there. FN welds on the side, and then uses a gray paint of sorts to try to cover up the weld. We have had customers complain that the gray paint is ugly. You cannot win. When you pin and weld, something has to give. The gray paint does not quite match the color of the A2 phosphating.
