Yes, this is the exact action used in USMC and Navy SEAL sniper rifles.
In 2010, Stiller was contacted by Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane, Indiana. The Navy armory asked if there was interest in bidding on the MK13 Mod 7 project to supply custom actions for the Mod 7 version of the MK13 300 WinMag sniper platform. This was the first time the Navy considered using a custom action for a Mk13 platform. Stiller decided to compete and ultimately won the very difficult competition. After supplying five TAC 300 actions pulled at random from inventory, the Navy determined that the Stiller actions offered 100% parts interchangeability. For the first time in the history of the MK13, any part from any Stiller-based rifle could be interchanged with the same part on a different rifle with no change in function or accuracy.
Stiller Mk13 actions are black nitride coated and subject to a specially developed, rigorous QC process that holds our already industry-leading tolerances to within a half thousandth of an inch.
The Mk13 action comes standard in right-hand configuration and no top metal. Special orders can be made for left-hand configuration and Picatinny rails in 0 or 20 MOA
Handcrafted from steel billet and head spaced and ready to add your barrel and chassis. The Mk13 is the same footprint as the TAC-300. The one piece bolt is fluted on the top and sides, but no fluting on the bottom, to assure no interference with magazine lips. The Mk13 bolt is part of the TAC action series, and had a straight bolt handle. The bolt knob is threaded and has a large bolt knob. It is possible to install after market knobs to be swapped out by a gunsmith.
The M13 / TAC 300 action is a Remington 700 LA clone footprint, for purposes of selecting a chassis or stock, but any chassis top will need to be specific to Stiller TAC actions.
Note: Still facility has moved, and markings are now: Stiller, Shiner, TX. Otherwise all the same markings and UID code
