The Mk16 is the latest evolution in Geissele's Super Modular Rail. It is based upon the Mk14, but then adds upper tabs to lock-in the alignment between the upper receiver and the rail.
This is the same rail that is found on Geissele's URGI upper receiver group, and in one of the most sought after colors around: Desert Dirt, or DDC.
The Mk16 is the latest entry to the Geissele line up of Super Modular Rails. The new handguard design offers a smaller diameter and overall height to create a slimmer package; even slimmer than the Mk14. Included is an updated version of the proven Geissele Barrel Nut design, not only providing ease of installation but superior rigidity. The Mk16 rail is 3d precision machined using mil spec Aluminum due to its strong, rigid and lightweight properties. Unlike the Mk16 rail used in the Super Duty rifles, this rail does not have the cutout dovetail to match a unique upper, so this will pair with most any quality forged upper receiver.
The Mk16 rail utilizes Magpul’s M-LOK technology in a full octagonal configuration, allowing the end user full customization and modularity of their rifle Mk16 Super Modular rail is finished in a durable and long lasting Type 3 Hardcoat Anodized DDC aluminum.
