The SBA5 is the fifth-generation SB Tactical brace built around the original SB15 arm-cuff profile. Pistol stabilizing braces originated as an ATF-approved aid for shooters who could not mount a traditional stock — by strapping to the forearm, a brace steadies the pistol in one-handed fire without converting the firearm into a short-barreled rifle under the National Firearms Act. The SBA5 keeps that baseline function and adds a carbine-tube adjustment mechanism so the brace indexes to the shooter's reach.
The cuff dimensions on the SBA5 are carried forward from the SB15 — SB Tactical's original patent design — so builders who shot the SB15 will find the wrap and strap footprint familiar. The QD sling sockets are cut into the body on both sides, which matters for a pistol build where aftermarket sling points are not always available on the receiver. Length adjustment is along the carbine extension using a standard mil-spec lock lever, and the brace collapses to 7.5" and extends to 10.25" depending on position.
