Geissele Upper Receiver Group, USASOC URG-I

URGI 14.5" barrel, originally offered by Geissele, now made for Charlie's

This version is a stripped model, so it does not have a BCG or flash hider and charging handle.

Each URGI is fitted with the handguard Geissele designed specifically for USASOC, the MK 16 M-LOK™ Super Modular Rail handguard with a full-length Picatinny top rail and lots of slots for other accessories. T-markings are engraved on the rail but not painted white to help keep the rifle unobtrusive.

Details:

• Mil-Spec receiver - 7075 forged and hardcoat anodized, complete with engraved T-marks.  Includes forward assist, shell deflector & ejection port cover
• Geissele MK16 Super Modular Handguard
• Colt factory 14.5" CMV barrel with 1:7 rifling & 1/2"-28 muzzle threads.  4150 steel chrome-moly-vanadium steel with military grade phosphate finish.  Chrome lined, 5.56 NATO chambering.  Colt factory barrel, which came to Charlie's with a front sight base.  We have removed the front sight base.
• Carbine gas system - military proven with low-profile Mk12 gas block, or optional pinned Colt factory installed low profile gas block.  Note:  when the MK12 gas block is removed, there are small taper-pin grooves, which Charlie's chemically treats for corrosion resistance and blackens when the gas block is removed.  When the Mk12 gas block is installed, one small pin groove will be visible if you are looking for it.  Most will not notice, and the pin groove does not affect barrel performance.  The US Navy has removed gas blocks like this for years.
• Note:  no flash hider is included.   Ready for you to attach your own, or buy one from us and ask us to pin and weld for an additional fee.

Note:  Over time, Geissele has released Mk16 DDC rails with painted letter and stamped lettering.  As of 2021, the rails will have Geissele stamped on the right side, and the left side will have either an NSN number or Geissele part number.  Some pictures show the earlier 2018 - 2019 painted lettering.

Also, note that the original "near clone" URGI had a Daniel Defense barrel.  That has changed.  Charlie's offers Colt, Geissele and FN barrels.  The model is a Colt barrel. 

NFA warning:  The Stripped URGI upper receiver does not meet the 16" minimum barrel length requirement, and requires registration and a tax stamp with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) when assembled into a complete rifle.  Please make sure you fully understand NFA and local laws.
