Mk18 Mod 1 FSB 10.3" Chop Boss Special Upper Receiver Group - Black

One of our Limited Production Custom Mk18-ish upper receiver groups from Chop Boss and Potomac Armory.

This is a Chop Boss special, made just for Charlie' Custom Clones. This is the Chop Boss' interpretation of the Unicorn Mk18 Mod 1 FSB. Made as true to form as we can do it, Charlie's, Potomac Armory, and The Chop Boss have created a replica of the Mk18 Mod 1 with the Daniel Defense RIS FSB and 10.3" barrel. 

The original Mk18 Mod 1 FSB was a short-lived and hard to find item. So, we asked the Chop Boss to make us a rail as close as possible to the original DD Mk 18 FSB rail. The Chop Boss did this by starting with a Daniel Defense M4A1 FSB rail, and slowly and methodically cut back the rail and then matched the anodizing color to present a rather perfect substitute for the actual Mk18 FSB. Yes, the Chop Boss is magic. Which is why we love his work.

Highlights

  • Charlie's custom Mk18 Mod 1 FSB with Chop Boss collaboration
  • Colt factory barrel with Colt installed front sight post, cut down by Compass Lake Engineering to be a Mk18 "Crane" barrel, with the gas port opened up to 0.070" and re-crowned and phosphated 4150 CMV Steel with factory chrome lining, 1:7 twist chambered in 5.56 NATO, factory installed M4 extension with feedramps topped with a Colt A2 flash hider, properly timed and mounted with crush washer.
  • Mil-spec forged upper receiver with hardcoat black Type III anodizing with M4 feedramps to marry-up with the Colt barrel extension.
  • Mil-spec nitrided Bolt Carrier Group with 9310 steel MPI bolt and 8620 tool-grade steel carrier, and staked gas key.
  • PRI M84 Gas Buster Charging Handle, as originally used on the Mk18.
  • Daniel Defense RIS FSB rail, cut back to 9.5" to match the original Mk18 FSB, custom-made by the Chop Boss.
  • Magpul MBUS Gen 2 rear back up folding sight.
  • Daniel Defense original black ladder rail covers from Ergo.

So what else do you need to know? Well, Charlie's loves to bring you strong quality made products, and this one is unique. Chop Boss is seen on Instagram, where he has created quite a following doing... well... chopping perfectly good rails into smaller parts. He is quite the craftsman, and Charlie's loves to highlight the work of American craftsmen. The Colt barrel, by the way, is military grade and will outlive all of us. Quality through and through, and made in the same way that NSWC Crane made the Mk18 barrels for the US Navy in the early 2000s during the Global War on Terror. Colt, Daniel Defense.
