Charlie's brings you a quality buffer tube at a budget price. Schmid is recognized as one of the leading producers of AR parts to original equipment manufacturers. This one is as nice as they come, including dry lube interior. Schmid makes these from a forging, which is the best manufacturing process. Quality wise, you can compare this to the Daniel Defense 6-position. Probably DD has a slightly better exterior finish, but who looks at the finish of a buffer tube ?
This is Charlie's go-to buffer tube, for six position builds day and day-out. There are lots of weak imports. This is pretty much Colt quality. Forged, DLP, you cannot go wrong. Don't let the price fool you.
Lesser quality tubes are extruded aluminum with the end-cap welded in place and subject to breaking. You will be very happy with this buffer tube. Also, many aluminum tubes use a less expensive 6061 aluminum alloy. In many places you can get away with using 6061, but in a buffer tube, this needs to be of the highest quality so it does not bend or break. The nature of the tube in the first place puts in out there for abuse, so why not get the best quality?
