Knights Armament (KAC)
KAC’s iconic Ribbed Rail Panels have seen use all over the globe on US military M4 Carbines. The lightweight polymer panels are ribbed for an enhanced grip, and help insulate the support hand from barrel heat. While originally designed for use on the KAC M4 RIS and M4 RAS rails, these panels are also compatible with many other railed handguards.
These are new products, either direct from Knights factory, or take-offs from new Knights RAS rails. The CAGE code is the current production of the rail cover.
Knights has had what some might call three generations of markings on the original RAS rail cover. Up to roughly 2003, the rail covers contained the city and state of the old KAC factory, "Vero Beach." Next came this generation with simply "Knights Armament" listed. The current generation, starting sometime maybe around 2012 (?) and contains the US Department of Defense identifier, known as a CAGE code.
