• Daniel Defense makes a very good barrel.  Barrels are best defined by their intended usage, and it is possible to call one barrel the best.  For long range match accuracy, this barrel would not be your first choice.  For a corrosion resistant well-made barrel that will last tens of thousands of rounds with darn good accuracy in a small package, you should consider DD short length barrels.  Colt hammer forging is a process that adds to barrel uniformity, and the chrome lining gives the barrel protection from wear, from steel tipped bullets and also from corrosion.  The phosphate finish is military grade, but will require oiling to keep the finish.  DD barrels are on a par with other great military brands, like Colt, LMT, Knights Armament and FN.  Some prefer the CHF process.  When choosing a short barrel, it is hard to make a mistake in buying Daniel Defense.
