The first focal plane reticle is not tied to any specific loading, allowing for versatility no matter what chambering or weapon it is to which it is mounted.

The 1-8x28 VCOG (Variable Combat Optical Gunsight) is a highly rugged, variable magnification riflescope designed for close quarter battle (CQB) and long distance marksmanship. With a forged aircraft-grade 7075-T6 aluminum housing, the VCOG is nearly indestructible. Superior glass provides exceptional clarity and color with zero distortion. The universal segmented circle/MOA crosshair dot reticle is designed for multi-platform use, accommodating multiple calibers, ammunition weights, and barrel lengths. The first focal plane reticle allows sub-tensions and drops to remain true at any magnification, allowing the shooter to quickly and accurately apply the correct hold. With ruggedized electronics, the LED reticle is robust enough for any application. Powered by a lithium AA battery (provided), the 1-8x28 VCOG offers a battery life of 633 hours at setting 6. Choose from 11 user-selectable brightness settings, 2 night vision settings, 8 day settings, and 1 super-bright setting. An integrated dial fin allows easy rotation through the magnification range, and a near-constant eye relief means no head or stock position adjustments are needed. Waterproof to 20 meters (66 ft.).  

The Trijicon VCOG Mount w/ Q-LOC Technology features a Mil-Spec drop test rated 6061-T6 aluminum design, with an easy to use one-handed tool less mounting system.  The spring-loaded design allows for constant retention and maintaining of zero even if the knobs are not tightened. 

The mount boasts a low weight and low profile design with superior return to zero performance and is compatible with any Mil-Spec or NATO Picatinny rail.                                                             

The VCOG 1-8x28mm provides more magnification and a brighter sight-picture than its predecessors. The 1-8x magnification adds two new upper levels of magnification to the VCOG lineup, allowing more precise shots at longer ranges. The 28mm objective lens offers a brighter a sight picture over the 1-6x model VCOGs that only have a 24mm objective lens. 1-8x VCOGs will be initially available with Trijicon’s first focal plane Segment Circle Cross-Dot reticle in both MOA and MRAD. Additionally the toolless turrets of the new VCOG 1-8x28mm riflescope have .25 MOA/.1 MRAD click values with audible and tactile feedback.

The VCOG 1-8x28mm is built from forged 7075-T6 and military grade aluminum alloys making the scope nearly indestructible. The VCOG 1-8x28mm riflescope’s 11 reticle illumination settings are powered by a single AA battery that should last several hundred hours. With both CQB and long range capabilities, the VCOG 1-8x28mm Riflescope will be a perfect pairing for a carbine or DMR style rifle. As part of their 2022 lineup, Trijicon is now producing VCOG Scopes with the new Q-LOC Quick Release Mount. This innovative mounting system utilizes a proprietary spring-loaded attachment mechanism that allows for fast one-handed mounting, and allows the ACOG to be attached/removed without the need to re-zero the optic.
