Gas Block Service

Low Profile Gas Block Service

Choose from the following Options:

Note, the following are all services.  If you have purchased a product (like a barrel from us), we will include with your product.  If you did not purchase a product, our team will quote you additional fees for shipping.

Install a gas block

Here, we will slide the gas block in place and use set-screws to hold the gas block in place.  If you want additional security, you can choose to also dimple, as you can read below.  Depending upon whether you buy a barrel nut, or send us your barrel nut, we will install the barrel nut and then apply red Loctite to the gas block to secure in place and remove any possible means for gas to escape.  If we do not have a gas block, we will lightly tighten the set screws, so you can remove and install the barrel nut, which must be in place behind the gas block before semi-permanently affixing to the barrel.

Drill a pin

If your gas block has flats, or a drill hole, we can drill a hole for a roll pin, like the Geissele low pro gas block.  We typically do not drill pins on gas blocks with angled edges unless we have a jig for that gas block.  Be sure to ask first.

Dimpling the barrel

Standard practice is to drill a small dimple opposite of the gas port.  Most installations require just on dimple for the set screw to take hold.  The second set screw is not in a standard position, and if one set screw is placed in the dimple, that should be enough to align.

The dimple process involves using a jig to hold the barrel steady, and then we insert a small drill bit with the drill press, and then follow with a shallower mid-sized bit to produce a round divot or dimple to hold the set-screw in place.

If you chose to have two or more set screw dimples drilled, that is an option in the drop-down.  We will have to have the gas block model in stock to measure the distance between set screws.
