The SS198 LF rounds use an innovative, lightweight, brass-jacketed, aluminum-core hollow point bullet.

The SS198LF Green Tip is a Lead Free High Performance Ammunition, which has a velocity of between 2100/fps -2200/fps from a Five seveN pistol, and around 2400/fps from the PS90. The SS198LF Green Tip has an effective range of about 200 meters, and is a boat tailed projectile. This not only stabilizes it in flight, but tumbles backwards upon impact of soft tissue, causing massive damage.

The SS198LF Green Tip is the ideal carry ammunition for any law enforcement officer, military unit, or civilian that is looking for penetration as well as stopping power. When carrying for personal protection, you also want to reduce over penetration. With the projectile tumbling as it enters soft tissue at 3″ deep, the projectile stays inside the object that you hit. This produces maximum damage, penetrates the 12″ recommended by the FBI, and at the same time reduces over penetration so you do not have to worry about the projectile going through your target. The maximum effective range on the projectile is also 200M. Because the round is only 27 grain, it can achieve a very high velocity, but it does not have the mass to continue at that velocity for very long, so the collateral damage is reduced by using this high speed tumbling round.
