Before the ubiquitous curved aluminum and polymer 30-Rounders we have today, there were USGI twenties. These light, short, straight bodies were the issued magazine for many GIs as the M16 was cutting its teeth in Vietnam. What many do not realize is that even before these there was a previous variation. Extremely rare and collectible due to the bulk destruction by the US DoD, the original magazine was a 20-Round, steel bodied straight profile magazine with a waffle pattern instead of the straight ribs we have today.
Nodak Spud brought this classic magazine back to life for a new generation of shooters and collectors. Made from heat-treated carbon steel with a stamped waffle pattern to give the period-correct look without the expense of a rare collector's item. These magazines are dependable due to their up-to-date internals. These take standard USGI 20-Round springs from Brownells. The waffle pattern also enhances grip for mag changes. The matte black parkerized finish looks good on its own but also serves as a solid base for those who love to rattle can their equipment.
